Differentiating a single lesson for a mixed-level ESL class

Three students, three CEFR levels, one 45-minute slot.

The trick is not three lesson plans. It's one core text with three response paths.

- **A2 learners** read a 120-word version and answer 5 yes/no comprehension questions. - **B1 learners** read the full 250-word version and write 3 sentences using new vocabulary. - **B2 learners** read it, then debate one of the implied claims for 2 minutes.

Same topic. Same room. Three exit tickets.
